USEFUL TO KNOW

Common questions

Why does my RCD keep tripping?

There are several possible causes, including faulty equipment, moisture ingress or an issue with wiring. Testing is needed to identify the cause.

Can you investigate outside electrical faults?

Yes. We can investigate faults involving outdoor lights, sockets and external wiring within the fixed installation.

What information is useful when reporting an electrical fault?

Tell us which circuits or accessories are affected, when the problem occurs and whether anything has recently changed. Photographs can also help us understand the symptoms.

What should I do if a socket is hot, sparking or visibly damaged?

Stop using it and isolate the affected circuit if it is safe to do so. Contact a qualified electrician for assessment; seek urgent help if there is smoke or fire.
